There are many off the shelf very inexpensive Windows based programs you can buy, so why make your own? Well, is there anything that makes your company different from your competitors? Of course there is, and the off the shelf software available to you does not handle the unique aspects of your business. Please click on the panes below and read about some of the reasons companies like yours use custom designed software.
Many businesses have software needs that are not common enough to be handled by the software programs available off the shelf. You can struggle with using software that is not designed for your purpose, or you can have software built specifically to run your business the way you want it run. These programs can run on their own, or they can be interfaced with existing applications that are used in the less unique aspects of your business.

In the past, many businesses stayed away from custom designed software because it was too costly. Due to recent technology improvements in software development, custom designed software is now more affordable than ever.

If your business is running a software application that has become outdated, we can create a new application for you with similar capabilities but with an up to date user interface and the latest in database technologies.

Those old databases keep getting corrupted all the time and you run the risk of losing your valuable data. Those old DOS, 3270, and 5250 based user interfaces are cumbersome to use and not intuitive to your staff.

Running 16 bit applications in a 32 bit Windows environment such as XP or Windows 2000 is difficult, and will be impossible in the future versions of Windows. If you don’t update these programs, you will not be able to take advantage of the new features of the operating system and the newer hardware platforms.

Most companies don’t use a single program to do everything. So they waste valuable man hours re-keying the same data into various applications. Errors in re-keying the data can cause confusion in your company, since various people can be looking at what should be the same data and getting a different picture. This can be very costly.

It is possible to have an application that will read data from one of your databases and copy it another. For example, we can read the data in your sales application and input it into your accounting program without your staff having to re-enter it.

It’s also possible to have a program that will produced reports with data that comes from multiple databases. For example, your receiving history from your inventory management application and your payment history from your accounts payable system can be used to produce a new report showing your activity by vendor.

Most companies need to analyze and report data in ways that are not directly supported by the programs they use. They would like to be able to take their data and export to a spreadsheet so that they can analyze what if type of scenarios, create graphs, and produce reports.

If you need to create a mailing to all or some of the customers in your database, it would be nice to be able to mail-merge the customer information with form letters you create using your word processing software.

If you have the email addresses of your contacts in multiple applications, it would be nice to be able to import them all into on place so you can find them easier.

There are many other reasons to import and export data from the programs you use.
